2024 SBC Updates

The 2024 Annual Meeting was held on January, 13th at 3pm.  Changes to club organization and rules, tournament schedule and tournament fees are outlined below.  The rule book and 2024 tournament schedule have been revised.

CLUB OFFICERS
Steve Curry, Dave Sapetti and Kim Sapetti will remain in office for 2024.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS/RULES COMMITTEE
Five long-standing members have been elected to be the board of directors and rule committee for 2024.  Their duties will include tournament weigh-in officiating, tournament judges, and scheduling of club participants for livewell check and fish bumping duties.  Elected officials are:

Bob Tucker, Joe Bigley, Mike Tuchmann, Mike Bretscher and Mike Miller.

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE CHANGES
The 2024 tournament schedule will consist of 6 Qualifying tournaments instead of 8. The two Qualifying tournaments on June 23 and August 11 have been changed to singles fundraiser tournaments in 2024. 

How these changes effect qualifying for the Fall Classic will be explained below. 

QUALIFICATION FOR THE FALL CLASSIC
In order to qualify for the Fall Classic, teams must compete and/or pay all associated tournament fees for the 6 scheduled qualifying tournaments. 

STANDINGS
The SBC standings will be based on POINTS only.  The SBC standings will no longer effect qualification for the Fall Classic. Note: The club will continue to calculate pounds totals for those who wish to see them.

TOURNAMENT FEES
Tournament fees for 2024 are as follows:

Participant Fee: $25
A one-time, annual fee for those who want to participate in SBC tournaments.  This fee applies to alternate partners used during the course of the year also.

Qualifying Tournament Fee: $120 per team
$10 of this fee will be applied to the Big Bass pot.

Team Fundraiser and Singles Fundraiser Fee: $60

TOURNAMENT AWARDS
Qualifying tournament awards have been changed to either trophies or plaques for 1st Place and Big Bass only. Awards will not be given for Fundraiser tournaments.

Trophies for the Fall Classic 1st – 3rd places, Big Bass each day and Big Bass of the Year will not change.  The POINTS Champion plaques will also not change.  Pounds Champions plaques will no longer be awarded.
